BACKGROUND
Imagine Global recognises the difficulty migrants and refugee youth have in adapting to Australian culture and fully accessing opportunities. They often face unseen mental pressures from bullying, socio-economic barriers and even previous trauma.

The Imagine Youth Mentoring program works to facilitate integration of these Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) youth in Australian society and promote their mental resilience. It also prevents misunderstanding of CALD communities and demonstrates how young people can collaborate with their CALD peers.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to support youth in becoming:

CONNECTED
Connected to their mentor - someone who supports them , as well as connected to the society - a world where they can reach their fullest potential. We want to help youth from different backgrounds to integrate into Australian society while celebrating exactly who they are.

EMPOWERED
Empowered to pursue dreams, be the boss of their own life, and reach their fullest potential. This can be achieved differently for different people such as practicing communication, improving English or being motivated to study.

CONFIDENT
Confident in who they are and proud of the things that make them unique. We want to let them know that others believe in them, but more importantly we want them to learn to believe in themselves.

HOW IT STARTED
Imagine Youth Mentoring had it's pilot run in 2020, and set up its program and policies with the help of the credible not-for-profits 'Save the Children' and 'Multicultural Futures

Imagine is an Australian-grown registered charity that practically serves a wide range of disadvantaged groups in society: homeless, refugees, families in crisis, poor, and institutionalized elderly. It is an empowering platform for ordinary people to imagine creative community service projects.
Multicultural Futures is a dynamic, charitable organisation that gets results. Founded in 1981, they’ve built decades of experience, working in partnership with government and other service providers to support migrants and refugees as they build a new life in Australia.
Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organisation for children, acting at the forefront of saving children’s lives when disasters strike, and creating lasting change for children and their families through our long-term education, health, child protection and climate change projects.
